Created by God
For Health and Career Education we have been studying Who Am I in Christ. We looked at how God loves us and how he sees us. Last week we analysed our character personalities. Please remember to finish colouring in the boxes which best describe you.
Fruit Costumes
Wow! You are all so incredible. Your enthusiasm in dressing up was great. But some went beyond wearing colours of a fruit. They actually put a lot of thought and effort into their costume. Can you guess what they are? By the way, Angela is a vegetable.
And the winner is...
MISS JOY’S FRUIT CRISP
We're blessed to have Miss Joy in the kitchen. Fruit crisp baking was so much fun thanks to her preparations. Everyone had a good time peeling, slicing, and crumbling.
4-6 apples
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon water
1 snack-size apple sauce
Mix and put into baking dish
Crisp
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/3 cup oatmeal
Mix and cut in 1/4 cup of butter cut in cubes. Work in with fingers until about pea size.
Add 2 tablespoons of water and fluff with fork. Don't pack down.

Archaelogy
Seniors have finished the unit on Archaeology. We learned what is archaeology, what an archaeologist does, what happens on a site and how to use problem solving to discover culture through artefacts. Seniors have a want ad description of archaeologists due Friday to culminate our unit.
God Keep Our Land
So far, in Junior Social Studies, we have been learning about the 6 regions of Canada - the Arctic, the Pacific Mountains, the Prairies, the Boreal Shield (Northern Forest), the St Lawrence Seaway (Mixed Plainwoods), and the Atlantic Coast. Juniors have a diorama due next Monday as we don't have Social Studies this Friday. A diorama is a 3D scene of the region. Please search the internet for samples. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Diorama is a good site. Be prepared to present your region and tell us the animals, plants and resources. I'll be looking for aesthetics and how much your diorama represents the region. Have fun.

Back to School!
Welcome back to school. We have an exciting year ahead of us and I pray that we will continue to grow in Christ as we learn more about his creation. This year in Social Studies, the juniors will be perusing Canada, it's geography, resources, history, government and immigrants. The Seniors will go back in time to delve into the ancient civilisations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and one other of their choice (approved by me, of course). In science, the juniors will discover the human body, forces and simple machines, renewable and nonrewable resources (there will be overlap with Social Studies for this topic). Fortunately for me, seniors will follow a similar program: cells and systems; optics, fluids and dynamics; water systems on the Earth.
