End of the Month

We've been very busy this month.  We finished our Mesopotamiam studies and Resources of Canada.  We are now studying about Egypt and the History of Canada.
What song did we learn along with Zechariah 4:6b?  Greater is He that is in me based on 1 John 4:4.
Wow!  Great job dressing up.  We think Peace Esther was the most creative in her pumpkin costume.  Thanks to dad Emmanuel for his shirt!
Here are some of the fantastic cupcakes we made with Miss Joy.  Sorry about the orientation.  I don't know how to fix the pictures so they are right side up.

Created by God

For Health and Career Education we have been studying Who Am I in Christ.  We looked at how God loves us and how he sees us.  Last week we analysed our character personalities.  Please remember to finish colouring in the boxes which best describe you.

Fruit Costumes

Wow!  You are all so incredible.  Your enthusiasm in dressing up was great.  But some went beyond wearing colours of a fruit.  They actually put a lot of thought and effort into their costume.  Can you guess what they are?  By the way, Angela is a vegetable.

And the winner is...

MISS JOY’S FRUIT CRISP

We're blessed to have Miss Joy in the kitchen.  Fruit crisp baking was so much fun thanks to her preparations.  Everyone had a good time peeling, slicing, and crumbling.

Filling
4-6 apples
3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon water
1 snack-size apple sauce

Mix and put into baking dish

Crisp
1/2 cup flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/3 cup oatmeal

Mix and cut in 1/4 cup of butter cut in cubes.  Work in with fingers until about pea size.
Add 2 tablespoons of water and fluff with fork.  Don't pack down.

Sprinkle over apples and bake in preheated 350 degree oven.

Check with a sharp knife after about 35 minutes.

Archaelogy

Seniors have finished the unit on Archaeology.  We learned what is archaeology, what an archaeologist does, what happens on a site and how to use problem solving to discover culture through artefacts.  Seniors have a want ad description of archaeologists due Friday to culminate our unit.
